Fire Alert

There was recently a fire in one of the homes in our community. The fire started in the wall around the chimney while the fireplace was in use. Even though the fire in the fireplace was out, the fire continued inside the wall. Luckily no one was hurt and the fire was quickly contained.

The Board is currently evaluating the cause of the fire to determine if preventative measures need to be taken to prevent further fires. In the interim, we would like to remind everyone that it is each unit owners responsibility to maintain their fireplace, firebox, and flue. We recommend getting an annual cleaning and inspection of your fireplace fireboxes and flues, and dryer exhausts. And please make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors have fresh batteries. Wired smoke detectors are also a good idea.
