Peterson/Laurelwood Master Plan Virtual Community Meeting Jan 19, 2022

[From the Santa Clara Unified School District]
Dear SCUSD Community,

After successful community meetings in December, the Santa Clara Unified School District is hosting another virtual community meeting to provide an update on the project and gather additional input for the Master Plan* for the new Laurelwood Elementary on the Patrick Henry Campus and a portion of Peterson Middle School.  Due to the recent uptick in COVID cases, we are only holding a virtual meeting.

The areas included in the Master Plan are:

Patrick Henry Campus

Peterson Fields

Peterson Tennis Courts

Peterson Parking Lots and Drop Off Areas

The Bryan Osborne Nature Center

The SCUSD Farm

Virtual Meeting: Wednesday, January 19, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Zoom

Currently, funding through Measure BB is only identified for the new Laurelwood Elementary School and the Peterson Fields.  The other improvements identified in the Master Plan will be completed as funding is secured.  Once the Master Plan is complete in Spring of 2022, the design of the new Laurelwood Elementary School and the Peterson Fields will begin.

Please visit the Peterson Laurelwood Master Plan Website for more information.

*A Master Plan is a dynamic long-term planning document that provides a visionary site plan to guide future expansion with enhanced student and community access to the sites.

Reminder: Any exterior modification requires approval

Before making any changes to the structure, plumbing, or exterior of your home please remember to submit an Architectural Change Request Form.

This could be adding exterior lights, screen doors, or paving your patio.

Most changes are quickly approved at the next monthly meeting. The Board simply wants to ensure that the work will maintain community standards, not negatively impact neighbors, and be performed by a qualified professional.

Termite Reminder

As we are now in the rainy season, you may find flying termites in or around your home. The good news is that the HOA will pay for most termite control! We only ask that you first get a professional inspection, which most pest control companies will do for free. Three options are:
Bay Area Termite: bayareatermite.com / (408) 337-1694
Planet Orange: planetorange.com / (888) 979-6897
Terminix: terminix.com / (877) 837-6464
Once you have a report with a quote to perform the treatment please send it to help@caminodelprado.org for review. (Please do not schedule any treatment before your report has been reviewed.)

If you do find termites or other pests, the Board encourages you to let your neighbors know as well. It is best for them to get inspected too.
